Let's create the perfect look together! We'll discuss your vision and plan wardrobe choices that make you feel confident and authentically you. Choose a relaxed video consultation, or for a small additional fee, I'll visit your home to personally help curate the ideal pieces from your own closet.

Professional Hair & Makeup

Sit back and enjoy being pampered! Our talented makeup artist and hairstylist will have you looking and feeling absolutely radiant and camera-ready. Love your natural look? No problem, skip the glam.

Ordering & Reveal Session

Get ready for the magic! At your reveal session, you'll see your stunning portraits for the first time whether in-studio, right after your shoot, or online.

Together, we'll choose your complimentary fine-art portrait, professionally matted and ready to display (a $275 value), plus the matching digital image. You'll also have the opportunity to create a complete collection with additional portraits that capture your heart.

Hello There

I'm Bobbi Jo Brooks, and I'm passionate about helping women celebrate their unique stories, journeys, and beauty.

After seventeen years in the nonprofit sector from the US to international work showed me the same pattern everywhere: women doing incredible work but receiving little recognition, fewer opportunities, and constant messages to stay small. Even with my education and expertise, I was repeatedly guided toward support roles rather than leadership positions.

That's exactly why I started the 40 Over 40 Portrait Experience. I wanted to create something that does the opposite — a space where women are seen, heard, celebrated, and honored as exactly who they are. This experience will be fun, fulfilling, and transformational.

  • It’s a once-in-a-lifetime luxury portrait session celebrating women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond. You’ll enjoy professional styling, a guided photoshoot, a featured portrait in my 40 Over 40 magazine, and be honored in a gallery-style exhibition. In addition, your story may be featured on my podcast, Seen & Celebrated, where portraits meet stories of courage, beauty, and becoming—so your voice and journey can inspire other women.

  • Not at all. All of my clients are not models and often come in a little nervous. I’ll gently guide you through flattering, natural poses that help you look confident and relaxed while still feeling like yourself.

  • Your experience includes a personal consultation, professional hair and makeup, a fully guided photoshoot, one matted fine art portrait, your story featured in the 40 Over 40 magazine, and an invitation to the gallery exhibition. Additional portraits and products are available for purchase, details we will discuss during your consultation call.

  • Absolutely. Many women love to share the experience with a friend, it adds to the fun and makes it even more memorable. If your friend wants the full experience (including hair and makeup, her own guided photoshoot, and individual portraits along with some together), each participant would book their own 40 Over 40 session. As a thank-you for bringing a friend, you’ll both receive 10% off any additional images or products you choose to purchase after your session.

  • Yes! We can absolutely turn your session into a celebration. A birthday or milestone party session includes professional styling, plenty of time in the studio (or can do the party at your home), and a custom portrait experience that you and your friends will never forget. I’ll work with you to design a day that feels like the perfect mix of pampering, portraits, and fun.

  • Before your session, we’ll plan together on a consultation video call (or in persona at your home for an additional fee). I’ll help you choose outfits that flatter your body and style, whether you want something glamorous, professional, casual, or a mix of all three. You’ll also receive a prep guide with tips to feel confident and prepared.

  • Not if you don’t want to. While many women love being featured in the magazine, podcast, and exhibit, I completely respect your privacy. You always have the choice of which images are shared and which remain just for you.

  • You’ll return to the studio (or meet virtually if you’re out of town) for your Reveal & Ordering Session, where you’ll see your portraits for the very first time. This is when you’ll select your included image and choose any additional portraits or collections you’d love to take home.

  • Yes! You’re welcome to bring a friend, sister, daughter, or anyone else who makes you feel comfortable and celebrated. I’ll make sure your time in the spotlight still feels special and personal. If you’d like them to pop in for a few portraits with you, we’ll reserve the last 30 minutes of the session just for those images.

  • Absolutely. Nearly every woman who walks through my doors tells me the same thing and then leaves feeling radiant, confident, and surprised by how much they loved the experience. My job is to guide you every step of the way with flattering lighting, natural posing, and encouragement .

  • That happens all the time! Most women discover more than one image they can’t live without. At your Reveal & Ordering Session, you’ll have the option to purchase additional portraits, collections, or wall art. Many clients choose to create albums, Reveal Box (handcrafted in Italy) or fine art pieces to celebrate this season of life. I do offer payment plans as well.
